Tony was a great speaker at our Team Europe Captains Dinner, he delighted the audience with his golfing memoirs during the Q & A with Mark Durden-Smith. He was fantastic company during the evening and was very charming with our guests

I attended your evening compered by Willie Thorne in Redruth Cornwall on Sat 11th October and just wanted to thank you very much for an excellent discussion and many insights into your illustrious career. Additionally it was very kind of you to sign autographs, pose for photos and chat before and after the official theatre discussions. Finally it was lovely to meet your wife Astrid who similarly was very welcoming and interesting to talk to so a big thank-you to her also. I expect by now you are back in Florida but hopefully you will have enjoyed the time back in the UK

Obviously it was opportune to hear you so soon after the retention of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in late Sept. After all anyone knowledgeable in golf will know that the renaissance of European competitiveness and interest in the Ryder Cup was started with your captaincy which acted as the catalyst to the event becoming the third most recognised even after the Olympics and the World Cup. For my part as I said on the evening my earliest memory of TV gold was watching you hole in one at the 16th at St Georges in the Dunlop Masters of 1967!!

I would hope that given the great lead to European golf by yourself in so many ways, be it your standard bearer involvement in the world game, your wins in the Open & US Open and of course the Ryder Cup fresh in everyone's memories, that at long last you would be rewarded with a knighthood for your services to golf and the many charities you support. You certainly deserve it and I cannot think of any of my many acquaintances in golf who does not support that view.

Once again very many thanks to both yourself and Astrid, and not forgetting Willie Thorne who asked the questions.

Tony Jacklin CBE was absolutely superb and surpassed all my expectations. I have already had many messages thanking me for the day; ‘best golf day I have attended’ is a common response.

Playing 18 holes with Tony Jacklin CBE and listening to some of his wisdom is something that will stay with me for a very long time – many of his theories transcend all sports and business alike. Wonderful.  Willie is a class act as well – his style is perfect for events like that.

Tony Jacklin CBE, attended our annual prize-giving as Guest Speaker and to present prizes and certificates to award winners.

All the boys, parents and staff at the event were enthralled by his interesting and entertaining speech.  He included just the right amount of material to keep the audience completely engaged – the content was inspirational and motivational with appeal to all ages.

Tony has a warm and delightful personality and graciously stayed on at the end of the formal ceremony, taking time to chat with pupils and parents, making the day a memorable event for all.
